Help Us Keep The Temple Doors Open!
Greetings Beautiful Beings,
As many of you know, the Temple of Isis, located in the heart of Sonoma, is a sanctuary dedicated to the Divine Feminine since 1976, making us the oldest and largest interfaith Goddess temple in North America.
I can honestly say that 2022 has been a year of struggles for us here at the temple. We’ve lost many beloved clergy and community members to the COVID-19 situation, which deeply saddened our hearts.
As we try to recover from the last three years of on an off again shutdowns and ongoing financial struggles, we have kept the sanctuary gates open to all those in need. On that note, we have expanded our charitable outreach by hiring a Parish Nurse to help all temple members in need, and we now have a therapist who comes to the temple monthly to do health checks for all those in need.
Since 2019 the Isis Oasis Sanctuary & Retreat Center has been closed for a total of 18 months due to COVID-19 shutting us down and due to 2 1/2 weeks of being shut down during the enormous fires which came in half a mile from our sanctuary.
We continue to provide sanctuary for up to 25+ people in our housing program at the temple. Here we do job training for our community in animal husbandy, housekeeping and catering, to name a few.
The sanctuary maintains an animal collection of over 100+ rescue animals here at our wildlife sanctuary, which we sincerely care for. As the fires raged throughout the Guerneville area here in Sonoma, we provided refuge for 20+ fire evacuees. The fires caused us to evacuee all of our 100+ animals for over ten days due to the horrible air quality.
We usually get by running the retreat center, which funds our charitable efforts. This was not the case this year.
So with a humble heart and faith in the Divine Grace of Isis, The Great Mother Goddess, we are looking for your donations to help us get through this Holiday season!
The Divine Mother blesses you for your giving.
May you go in love, for love is the path of the divine mother!
Many Blessings,
Rev. Justin Howard
